Ray Scott

Ray Scott

"The working class poet of country music".   Ray Scott was raised in the rural farming community of Semora, North Carolina.   Ray has a sense of where country music's been and he knows that he's taking it somplace new.  Listening to his music, you can tell that Ray's influences have been Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard.   A few years ago, Ray got his big break when he landed a publishing deal with Nashville's Tom Collins after Randy Travis and Clay Walker recorded two of his songs.

Ray's Hit Songs include : "PlowBoy" and "My Kind of Music".

Ray Scott can name many country artists who influenced his music, but the biggest impression on Ray was his Dad, who also was a country singer.

Jamey Johnson

AND:   JAMEY JOHNSON

Jamey Johnson was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and grew up influenced by that state's famous country musicians such as Hank Williams Jr., Vern Gosdin, and the band, Alabama.   After beginning his singing career in the clubs of Montgomery, Jamey served eight years with the United States Marine Corp.   After his service with the Marines, Jamey struggled to find a record deal until his seventh audition for RCA Records.

Jamey's Current Hit Song : "The Dollar" .

Upon arriving in Nashville on January 1, 2000, Jamey took a job as a salesman for a sign company.   Between 2001 and 2004, Jamey helped run a consruction firm.

Gene Watson

GENE WATSON

Gene Watson was born in Palestine, Texas and was one of seven children.   Though he can sing honky-tonk, Gene has a reputation for singing soulful ballads in the classical country tradition.   Gene can give his music a contemporary sound without sacrificing his trademark traditional style.   Gene has great respect for songwriters stating that you can be a great singer, but if you don't have a great song, you're in trouble!

Gene's Hit Songs include : "Farewell Party", "Paper Rosie",
"Nothing Sure Looked Good On You", and "Fourteen Carat Mind".

Gene has been praised as one of country music's most under-rated singers.   His voice and style is instantly recognizable and is not easily matched.

Jeff Bates

JEFF BATES

This is a man with a story to tell, the kind of story that sounds like it comes from a classic country song.   Jeff was given up for adoption as a baby.   He later met his birth mother, but his father remains a mystery.   His adoptive parents played lots of records by Webb Pierce, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Jeff's biggest influence - Elvis Presley.  Hungry to see the world, Jeff joined the National Guard at the age of 17.   After several unsuccessful marriages and working on an oil rig, as a carpenter, as a welder, and as a song writer, Jeff settled down to his real love of music.  After Gene Watson and Tracy Lawrence recorded three of his songs, he gave up his last odd job of pouring concrete and devoted his time to singing and recording great country music..

Jeff's Hit Songs include : "Rainbow Man ", "Country Enough",
"The Love Song", "My Inlaws Are Outlaws " and "Good People ".

Watch Jeff's current hit song "One Second Chance" on CMT and GAC.

"What I want to bring to country music is realism," says Jeff Bates. "I'm trying to get as Real as it is, as Real as you want to get."
